TEFL Certified English Teacher Scam Alert!

Scam-Alert

Docklands Idiomas has been the target of scammers over the last few years with people pretending to be from the centre offering jobs and positions, including accomodation.

Some of these fake positions are posted on websites such as Just Landed . Com, Go Abroad .Com and others. Docklands Idiomas DO NOT uses these websites for posting positions.

Please take care when applying for positions. Docklands Idiomas will never ask for money beforehand or discuss any type of accomodation package. We only interview prospective teachers at the school premises and not on Zoom.

There is a person calling himself Gary Keery, who we believe to be African, possibly Nigerian. He only likes to talk/text via Whatsapp and if you have a Zoom call with him, his camera is always turned off. These are red flags and Docklands Idiomas would never conduct an interview over Zoom with the camera turned off or ask you to correspond via text messages/Whatsapp messages.

Gary Keery has been reported to the local police here in Barcelona as he has scammed teachers from all over the world and Europe looking for work. He has also used aliases such as Dennis Grau, who was in fact an ex student of ours. Another alias he uses is Mr Michael Wilfredo (DoS).

Please do your due dilligence regarding any advert you see about a possible job offer from Docklands Idiomas.

The scammer usually likes to connect via Skype or similar and uses the email address: docklandsidiomas.com@gmail.com

His Whatsapp is usually +34 613072163 – but looks like he’s not using this as we phoned him on it and is possibly deactivated or he has blocked us.

As you can see, both of these have nothing to do with the centre and are completely fake.

Here is a copy of his fake job application form or contract that he sends to unwary teachers.
